There are spotted skunks to look out for as well as raccoons and weasels. Although rare to the area a mountain lion may roam into the national park from time to time. The California Condor makes its home among the cliffs of the canyon as well as Bald Eagles during the winter months. And every so often one might see a black bear roaming along the river bank looking for a tasty meal.

Gay rafting, with such stunning views and wild life to see, no wonder why the Pueblo people considered the canyon a holy site and made pilgrimages to it for clarity on spirit walks.
