Christianity is at a crossroad and the Christian community is at risk of losing its power to fight back. But we’ve been at crossroads several times through the two millennia we’ve been around.
The power to fight back can be lost. People are likely to accept the modern concept of the bible and view the Christian faith as irrelevant to their lives.
In the past few years there have been an excess amount of information mostly in books and movies that have impacted the Christian faith. These attacks have done significant damage to the Christian brand and affect how our God is seen in the world.
These attackers set about to destroy the bible by creating scholarly articles that attack especially the gospels. They believe the gospels were written way after the crucifixion and thus could have been tainted by people’s imagination of what they thought Jesus should be.
Popular books and movies also attack everything the bible and the Christian faith stand for. They find new ways to point out why long held scholarly beliefs in passages in the bible are not to be interpreted in the traditional fashion but must be reinterpreted in a new light.
Modern scholarship is shaping the way the public view the Christian faith. The scholars behind these works have an agenda to use whatever tools and methods at their disposal to rid society of the Christian heritage.
Modern scholars are discouraging Christians particularly those who are educated. The goal is to debase the Christian God to irrelevance and finally claim victory over this long religious odyssey.
In schools where we traditionally have had influence, we see our traditional curriculum being replaced with new-age curriculum that promotes Darwinism over Creationism. This is where the most impressionable among us learn and they are being taught to view the Christian faith as something that it is not.
We have to take a stand against these assailants and as a group fight for what we believe in. It is a fight that’s worth the price and we cannot afford to lose such an important battle.
