Sinus Problems also lead to pulsating tinnitus. When someone takes higher than antibiotics it causes thickening of the mucous in the inner ear. This mucous has to empty out through the Eustachian tubes. But the mucous has become too thick to empty out thru the narrow tubes. Thyroid Dysfunction also causes pulsatile tinnitus. In a specific dysfunction Hyperthyroidism, causes increased faster heart beats. This in turn causes pulsating noise. Some other reasons for tinnitus may be caused by stress, complications caused by prescribed drugs, tumors in the middle ear for example. These are some of the common causes of pulsating tinnitus. There are more reasons behind tinnitus but its occurrence is very less.
