Explanation of the Four Mental States Achieved Using Binaural Beats

You may know that using binaural beats lets you to obtain various states of mind. This is done by \”tuning\” your brain into various frequencies. Once your mind is tuned into these varying frequencies, it\’s easier to obtain the state you are looking for such as relaxation, positive thinking, increased memory, focus, and more.

More than a century ago, the advantages of binaural beats were found. It was determined that by playing different frequencies into your ears, it could have an effect on the frequency that the brain operates at. For instance, if you wanted to bring your mind into a similar state that deeper sleep gives you, a frequency of about one to three hertz (hertz are changes per minute) could be played into your ears. And today, just a simple CD or MP3 player is needed to get your brainwave frequency where you want it.

In order to get your brain to tune into one of the specific frequencies, slightly different sounds can be administered to each ear. In the case of binaural beats (there are also other beats called isochronic and monaural beats, but we\’ll use binaural as the example here), a tone is played in in each ear. One tone may be 100 Hz, the other is played at 108 Hz. This creates a binaural \”beat\” with the same frequency as the difference of the two (8 Hz). In this case, 8 Hz matches with the theta state of mind which is great for creating ideas.

There are four different categories that are used when discussing the different states. They are called theta, delta, beta, and alpha. It is possible you have heard some of these terms before, and they are commonly used when talking about binaural beats.

The first frequency range is the beta frequencies. This is the range from 13 Hz to 25 Hz. This range is used to obtain a state of alertness, and reduce anxiety and stress.

The second category would be the alpha frequencies. The alpha frequencies range from 8 to 12 Hz. When the binaural beat is delivered in this range, it assists in \”superlearning,\” positive thinking, and also a state of light relaxation.

In the range from 4 to 7 Hz, you can experience benefits that include deeper relaxation (which is fantastic for meditating), memory improvement, better focus, and many other benefits. This is the theta range.

Lastly, the delta frequencies occur at less than 4 Hz. When the frequencies occur in this range, this assists with deep sleep, increased immune functions, and loss of body awareness.

As is clearly shown here, there are a fantastic number of benefits that binaural beats have to offer… And what is mentioned here doesn\’t cover each one of them either. They require no practice or experience at all — Just someone with an open mind to get started.
